TEC
To maximise the learning from the tsunami response, AIDMI will continue its work on disseminating the findings and related information from the TEC. The search for and establishment of new partnerships will go on and a workshop is under planning. Deeply related with the previous activity, AIDMI will also continue contributing in evaluation of long-term recovery impact of tsunami response and providing strategic input and design.

Along with all these specific objectives, AIDMI will always maintain inclusion as a major action principle. Vulnerable communities will continue not only to be the first whose needs will be addressed but also to be empowered in order to be able to decide about their own recovery. In addition, AIDMI will continue to cooperate with all the different stakeholders, so that all the significant inputs may be included in its action plan.

Dissemination of the TEC recommendations in regard to climate change in a conference of coastal communities in Pakistan for networking community perspectives and knowledge. Furthermore, a plan to develop a tool to map overlaps between climate change and disaster risks in Asia, drawn from the TEC

There is a clear need for more rigorous efforts among responding agencies to both support local response capacities and to build back better. Thus, AIDMI has established a partnership with Solution Exchange, a UNDP initiative, towards fundamental changes in managing DRR. it is planned to review phase wise disaster response issues identified by the TEC and move forward by developing processes for enacting solutions. These phases include:
1. Emergency response and relief
2. Rehabilitation and reconstruction
3. Long-term recovery
4. Prevention, mitigation and preparedness

Finally, AIDMI will continue to promote a community-based disaster mitigation strategy, so that its work can be easily incorporated by the most affected and justly acknowledged by policy makers.

"The work of the All India Disaster Mitigation Institute is highly appreciable. Their efforts are to promote a culture of prevention in the country through building capacities of all stakeholders. They are establishing networking with various organisations / agencies and promoting cooperative efforts through improved risk management in the country. AIDMI has taken a lead to launch Training and Learning Circle (TLC), a network of training institutions and universities to provide a forum to deliberate upon critical issues of CBDRR. The endeavours of AIDMI will provide fillip to organise and pool resource persons under one umbrella. Their efforts will bring a lot of changes in the vulnerable community. Everyone should jointly contribute in this noble pursuit of the Institute."
